The positives: ===================================================== 1. rear bulkhead(trunk) allows you to run a a fuel cell without having to have a sealed area. 2. same as #1 for battery also, no need for sealed box. 3. the rear "firewall" between drivers cabin and drivers compartment adds some side to side chassis stiffening. 4. The car is pretty damn light with the top removed, no rear hatch to weight it down. 5. The car is lighter than a TT, although not as light as a slicktop (a car i want to build eventually) 6. It's a convertible! with serious power...The downsides: ===================================================== 1. The car is very weak in the door areas, the car likes to twist here, just like a ttop car, nothing a full cage cant fix. 2. No top = some tracks wont let you run, I am anxious to see though how many will say i cant run even though i have a full cage. ( i have considered building a fiberglass hardtop, or having it made, but I put that at bottom of my list) 3. Need to do full engine swap to make it turbo (same goes for the slicktop) 4. had to have a custom convertible door made to allow full cage to work (franks custom fiberglass)
